Caroline (Caz) Hurst

I am a registered mental health nurse and a qualified CBT, DBT and ACT therapist. I qualified as a mental health nurse in the UK, where I worked predominately in Community Mental Health Services. I emigrated to New Zealand in the early 2000s and worked at Waitemata District Health Board, before moving into my own private practice. I have over 35 years’ experience working with people in both public and private mental health care. I have worked with many people from all walks of life with a multitude of issues. All of my clients have wanted their lives to be better and my skills training has helped them to improve their quality of life. Most of the feedback has included; ‘wow this really works’ and ‘why are these skills not taught in school?’ For me it is about helping people see that they are capable of much more, recognising that you don’t have to focus on the past or future, and you don’t have to answer all the problems to feel better. Teaching skills that really make a difference is the most important thing.
